Hosted by faculty from the Master of Social Work program at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at 911�Թ�, Social Work Matters aims to strengthen the social fabric of our communities through candid conversations about contemporary societal challenges and the role of social work in various settings.

In this Social Work Matters episode, 911�Թ� MSW faculty member Dr. Ayrin Hnosko shares her journey into social work and her specialization in trauma. She discusses the definitions and misconceptions surrounding trauma, emphasizing the difference between complex trauma and PTSD. Dr. Hnosko highlights the impact of trauma on individuals and communities, the challenges faced in trauma work, and the importance of education and support in recovery. She also offers advice for emerging social workers and emphasizes the significance of self-care in the field.

About the 911�Թ� MSW program

In the CSWE-accredited online master’s degree program in social work at 911�Թ�, you’ll gain the knowledge and develop the skills to enter this rewarding and meaningful social service career. You will learn the impact of social policy in shaping the future of this profession in your social work education.

Our MSW program, which you can complete in as few as two years, is focused on advanced practice. This means, through classwork and practicum experience, you can prepare to excel in clinical social work practice and pursue licensure to become a licensed clinical social worker.
